A special note to Bulloch Academy Parents:
Our chess camp will be held June 10-13, from 1pm to 4pm.  I know the original flyers said from 9am to noon, but many of our players had a conflict of interest, so we are changing the times.  We'll meet in the BA cafeteria and snacks will be provided.  Can't wait to see you there!
Parents and Players: The 2012-2013 chess season has come to an end. It was a great year and I think we can all agree that we had a lot of fun.
We'll be making some changes for the 2013-2014 season. First, we will have clocks for every player. Also, each player will need to purchase a score book (under $10.00). We've built a strong foundation but next year we will take our club to a whole new level.

"As a player and student of the game for over 27 years, I am a true believer in the benefits of chess.  I consider it a duty to promote it to young and old alike so that all might come to enjoy the subtle lessons of this timeless game." - David Hamer

                                Our goals in the classroom:
1. A thorough understanding of how the game of chess is played.
2. An introduction to basic chess strategy including positional play,
tactics and strategy, opening theory and endgame technique.
3. The development of a strong team of competitive players.
4. Finally, and most importantly, promoting a strong sense of self-
esteem and accomplishment with the children.
